Effect of Silk Fibroin Content on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Electrospun Poly(lactic acid)/Silk Fibroin Nanofibers for Meniscus Tissue Engineering Scaffold

چکیده

Abstract This study aims to produce composite nanofibers from polylactic acid (PLA) and silk fibroin (SF) with mechanical properties similar that of a native meniscus. SF is natural protein, well known for its good biocompatibility biodegradability but it has poor compared synthetic polymers. contains proteins which can promote cell adhesion proliferation required tissue engineering scaffold. PLA popular material widely used in engineering. It provides high lacks bioactivity affinity. Thus, PLA/SF scaffold improve these drawbacks. In this study, were fabricated using an electrospinning process at various ratios (PLA: 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75). The content the emulsion dominated fiber diameter, arrangement processibility nanofibrous With increasing content, %elongation break increased Young’s modulus decreased. wettability electrospun was increase content.
